    March 2021 Goals

Hi friends! It’s a little late for March goals but I figured it’s better late than never right? 🤣 Let’s first recap February’s goals first though.

    February Goals Recap:

    • read two books I think I’m going to start adding in small recaps of books I’ve read to these posts.
    • find a better schedule for working on Etsy This has been life-changing!!
    • edit/organize a month of photos
    • plan our weeks
    • stick to social media boundaries Another thing that has been life-changing! I can stay so much more focused on things I want to get done throughout the day because I’m not distracted by social media.
    • blog once a week
    • work on new products for Etsy

    Books I’ve Read:

A little check in from my 2021 book list for the year: So far the list has been really helpful when it comes to making sure I have books in the house that I want to read. It also has helped with realizing that I needed to prioritize room in our budget for books or time at the library to get the books. It has given me some motivation to choose to read too because I don’t want to fall too far behind with the list.

So if you remember, I planned to read a fiction and a non-fiction book each month and what I am realizing is that one non-fiction book a month might be too much. When I do choose to sit down to read I’m wanting to sort of checkout and enjoy a story. I do really like reading for learning purposes as well though, I’m just realizing with the amount of time I have (with is not very much because of small children LOL) I will choose fiction more than non-fiction.

Okay now onto the reviews. (I’ve included January’s books as well.)

    • The Tattooist of Auschwitz: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was very eye opening and heartbreaking. It is an amazing love story amidst the heartbreaking reality of what went on during the Holocaust. I would recommend this one for sure.
    • The Last Anniversary: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I looove Liane Moriarty. This book was a really great one but I felt it was a little lacking in the ending. I guess I just like to have the ending of books neatly tied up with a bow and this one didn’t quite do that for me. But all in all it was still a very good read if you like chick-lit.
    • Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I very much enjoyed this book and thought it was a great start to the conversation of facing racism. I would love to read more books to learn even more of what I can do to fight racism.
    • The Ickabog: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a really cute book. I haven’t read anything by J.K. Rowling since I’ve finished the Harry Potter series so it was really fun to dive back into her writing. I definitely enjoyed this one and am glad she released it.
    • One by One: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is my third Ruth Ware book and I really enjoyed all of them including this one. I stayed up until 2 am one night because I just had to know how it ended. I looked up reviews after I finished it and was pretty shocked to see there were quite a few people who didn’t enjoy this one that much. I thought it was very suspenseful and would recommend it if you enjoy suspense novels.

    • Blog once a week
    • Plan our weeks
    • Stick to our new schedule
    • Create a cleaning schedule
    • Work on new Etsy shop

I’m excited to keep working on these goals and keep trying on the ones that haven’t quite happened yet.

    Monthly Goals: March

February turned out to be a month that was different from what I had originally planned. I don’t think I really did many of my goals at all, but I am kind of okay with it because I learned a lot about myself this month. I learned how to more efficiently work from home, and feel good about doing it, which I struggled a lot with through-out the whole month. The reason why I really didn’t focus on my goals though was because I spent a large majority of my time working on starting an Etsy shop. I think I’m still a few months away from actually doing this, but I learned so much about it and also about blogging this month too. So enough of my excuses, let’s see just how bad I did with these goals. 😉

    February Goals Recap

    • Celebrate our first married Valentines Day! I included what we did in this post if you’re interested.
    • Read two books. Nope. Not even one. 🙁
    • Clean out the pantry. This I did right in the beginning of the month and it has made my cooking experience so much better, haha!
    • Clean out our drawers. I’m loving how the organizing projects just keep getting checked off the list. This makes me feel so much better.
    • Finish crocheting the blanket I’m working on. YES. (PS. This may or may not have to do with my Etsy shop) 😉
    • Consistently blog Monday-Friday. Still going strong! 🙂
    • Pray for Tommy every day. I really want to cheat and check this off but it just did not happen. I prayed for him more than I did before, but just not every day so I will keep trying until that happens.
    • Create a cleaning schedule. I also did not do this one, I’m still debating what’s the best way to do it to be honest.
    • Create a blogging schedule for the month.
    • Workout 2-3x’s per month. LOL. I can never get this one down. We did start doing yoga this month though and I really love it, so I’m feeling hopeful for next month maybe!
    • Get used to waking up at 7 am. Nope. It’s more like 8-9 but I’ve been okay with it. I think I’ll keep trying until I get it to 7 though.

I didn’t do quite as bad as I thought I did! I just can never get down the reading or working out goals that I want to. I guess I will keep trying though!

    March Goals

    • Consistently blog Monday-Friday
    • Read 2 books
    • Plan Florida vacation
    • Finish crocheting another blanket
    • Write 4 Lifetree posts
    • Write post for Young Wives Club
    • Workout 2-3x’s per week
    • Spend more time outside
    • Pray for Tommy every day

I guess we’ll see how this month goes! I’m excited that the weather’s getting warmer and hopefully that will create a lot more inspiration for my goals, especially the working out one.

What are your goals this month? I’m linking up with Autumn for #MonthlyGold. Come join us! 🙂

February Goals Recap + March Goals

    February Goals Recap

I didn’t do too bad this month. I’m learning how to make realistic goals, which is helping a lot. I didn’t work out like at all this month, I’m having a hard time finding the motivation. Overall though I’m really happy that I stuck to it. I grew particularly in the blog section this month and it’s been really fun.

    Health/Fitness

    • start working out 2-3x’s per week
    • continue making healthy lunches (I meal planned the last 2-3 weeks and it was the key to our success for this one.)
    • find more healthy recipes (Pinterest is my best friend here.)
    • drink lots of water

    Marriage/Wedding

    • Research songs for wedding
    • book the baker
    • continue premarital counseling
    • read another marriage book (moving this to my March goals)

    Blog

    • post at least 2x’s per week
    • comment on other blogs
    • write a guest post

    Money/Budget

    • make a budget for February
    • save at least 350$ (losing my job next month didn’t help this much)

    March Goals

I cannot believe it’s March. March is probably my least favorite month – it is soo long, we lose an hour of sleep, and there are absolutely no holidays that get me off of work. This year will be different seeing as my last day of work is March 14 so I’ll have the last half of the month off if I can’t find a job. It’s getting more difficult to trust God’s plan now that I’m this close to losing my job and still don’t have another.

    Health/Fitness

    • start working out 3-4xs per week (I am so determined to make this work, the wedding is 2 1/2 months away!!)
    • follow meal plans
    • drink lots of water
    • less cheat meals

    Marriage/Wedding

    • read When Sinners Say I Do
    • meet with Phil for another session of premarital counseling
    • pick out flower girl / ring bearer outfits
    • work on decorations
    • send out invitations
    • find accessories for me and bridesmaids

    Blog

    • continue posting 2-3xs per week
    • comment, comment, comment
    • participate in 3 linkups

    Money/Budget

    • make budget for March and stick to it
    • save 100$
    • continue tithing even when it’s hard
    • find another job!
